I'm having my own party!
I haven’t held a large scale party of any sorts since around my 11th birthday.
Yet next Saturday I get to hold a HUGE bash. SO EXCITED.
I just designed invitations and am printing a bunch of copies. I already have more than 15 people that have expressed interest in this, which is INSANE for my kinds of parties.
FUCK
My secondary hard drive is showing signs of an imminent failure.
The principal totally insulted the band.
On the announcements today:
“There’s a band concert tonight at 7:30, if you’re interested in that sort of thing.”
…excuse me? “If you’re interested in that sort of thing”?
I need a Halloween costume by tomorrow!
It’s the band Halloween concert, and costumes are mandatory.
I’m making the most ghetto Team Fortress 2 Medic costume ever. Complete with cardboard/duct tape healing gun.
Helpful tip. If you’re uploading a bunch of photos to Facebook that people are going to be interested in, turn off the email notifications… I uploaded 70 marching band pictures from various times in the season, came back 2 hours later, and had 237 emails notifying me of people tagging other people in pictures.
Needless to say, I was caught off guard.
Oh, and I’ll probably put up some pictures tomorrow morning. Just because.
On the plus side...
Some good things did happen today, occasionally.
-I gave a ton of hugs today. People seemed to really need it. Seeing as I don’t receive or get the opportunity to give them very often, I probably hugged as much today as I have in the course of all my life previous to today. And I daresay, I like hugs and I wish I could indulge in them more often, such as like today.
-I got a free hot...

and then the day just went down and down and down.
I thought it would be a wonderful day for regionals and everything. It has rained the past 3 days but the forecast said it wouldn’t rain today. Well, I got to band and fucking Lake Michigan was doing its magic again… lake effect rain, that wonderful stuff that can’t be predicted.
So, it was raining. Big fucking deal, right. ...
oh jeez the weather is awful. they may have to have us perform in a gym cause the field is semi flooded. way to ruin things, weather :(
hahah northwest indiana rocks; it just hailed in the middle of pre-contest practice… performance is in 5 more hours!
And now the day is here. The final day of marching band. One last performance.

After regionals Saturday, which there is essentially no chance of us advancing past (although we are still going for the 70-point Gold range for the first time) the band season comes to a dead stop. Math isn’t up to interpretation. There is always going to be a right answer. There is a proper way to do a problem, and if you do it that way, it’s going to be right. English on the other hand, is always up to interpretation. What if the author didn’t want the rain or the colors he used to have a meaning? Fuck you English, I’m going to do my calc homework instead.

I disassembled my Sega Genesis
And I found out that it is a “VA 3” motherboard revision, widely regarded for having some of the clearest video output of any Genesis system as well as the best sound quality of any of the shrunk-down Version 2 units.
Talk about good luck! I picked this baby up two years ago, and out of all the ones I could have gotten, I ended up with this. And it was free… even better.

Got home from school to find that the cat had not only hunted out a bag of catnip my parents had been storing in a cupboard (a cupboard near the ceiling and probably quite difficult to open with paws, I might say) but that he was on the couch watching TV. The TV was not on when everyone left in the morning.
