I disassembled my Sega Genesis

And I found out that it is a “VA 3” motherboard revision, widely regarded for having some of the clearest video output of any Genesis system as well as the best sound quality of any of the shrunk-down Version 2 units.

Talk about good luck! I picked this baby up two years ago, and out of all the ones I could have gotten, I ended up with this.  And it was free… even better.
